Skills4Stem is Accredited by the Good Business Charter
Skills4Stem are delighted to receive accreditation from the Good Business Charter.
Have you heard about the Good Business Charter?
It is a new initiative which provides businesses with an excellent opportunity to promote their good business practices and we are now accredited with them.
There are ten components to the Good Business Charter and all the information about what you need to do in order to meet each component can be found on their website: www.goodbusinesscharter.com and then it is a really easy online process to gain the accreditation.
The Good Business Charter (GBC for short) is being run by a charity called the Good Business Foundation with a team of trustees including representatives from the CBI and the TUC. They believe the time is right for a Good Business Charter to encourage responsible capitalism and publicly acknowledge and reward those companies and charities who exhibit such behaviour.
The reason I am writing is to see if you might be interested in joining the GBC. I think it is great initiative and the team behind it is keen to get a critical mass of accredited companies and charities so that it can gain important and influential authority to change business practice for good.
The ten components which businesses will need to sign up to are:
1. Real living wage
2. Fairer hours and contracts
3. No penalties for sickness
4. Employee representation
5. Diversity and fair pay
6. Environmental responsibility
7. Pay fair tax
8. Commitment to customers
9. Ethical sourcing
10. Prompt payment
