How Gamification can help the Construction Industry
Gamification is the process of using typical game elements (e.g. point scoring, competition with others, rules of play) to engage users and to solve problems.
In the UK 2.5Million people work in Construction, recent research published by CITB says the industry will grow by 2.9% over the next 5 years this will create 224,000 new jobs. The future of the Construction industry is about building a good talent pipeline but it is also about upskilling our existing leaders to build effective, innovative, empowered teams.
A challenge that continues to affect the Construction industry is the lack of time available to assess leadership competencies beyond annual or quarterly reviews and also without human bias. As a training provider we know our clients would benefit from company-wide leadership skills analysis to tailor the training and the target audience, but it is often an exercise that is time consuming and costly.
Gamification is a way the industry can now assess individual leadership skills and competencies in a cost effective way to ensure leadership training is more focused and training budgets more effectively managed.
Skills4Stem has recently launched a suite of Gamification products for the Construction Industry to enable independent skills analysis. The interactive 30 minute mobile ready leadership gamification games are fun, engaging and very cost effective, giving the employer a non-bias insight into each individual’s leadership strengths and weaknesses.
This is yet another innovative way technology can help the Construction industry. Skills4Stem will continue to be innovators in this space……
