CASE STUDY: Skills4Stem partner with P&G and WEConnect International to provide Female Business Leaders Growth Programme
In April 2018, Skills4Stem began delivering an exclusive female business leadership programme designed to inspire, encourage and power the progress of women-owned businesses in the UK.
Procter & Gamble and WEConnect International partnered with Skills4Stem to run a Leaders Programme for 14 UK businesses that are majority women-owned, who want to develop and grow their organisation. The course was split into three streams over six days, with a Q&A session led by a topic expert from P&G at the end of each day. The streams were Growth Strategies, Business Operations and Leadership.

We gave Skills4Stem the contract to deliver a leadership programme on our behalf for Procter & Gamble. The collaboration between Skills4Stem and P&G enabled the development and delivery of a unique and innovative leaders programme. It brought together female business leaders from 14 majority women-owned UK companies to help them grow their organisations. We could not be more delighted with the outputs.”
The programme was held at the P&G offices in Weybridge, Surrey from April to June. The bespoke training was developed by the team here at Bedford-based Skills4Stem. We created the course strategy and content and were also responsible for the course delivery. Skills4Stem worked closely with P&G to ensure the programme really met the needs of participants.

Topics covered over the 3 months included the use of Agile methodologies to increase team performance and improve customer satisfaction, strategies to encourage high growth, project management, strategic financial management, coaching, attracting and retaining talent and assessing leadership styles.
Course participant Alison Frith comments on her experience; “The ability to have free thinking time and be able to take time out and receive such relevant learning content. alongside meaningful discussions with likeminded people was invaluable. There was always something to take from each topic, such as the lost productivity from multi-tasking with the memorable phrase ‘stop starting and start finishing’, to active learning sets for problem solving, useful coaching techniques and the ‘one pager’ for succinct communication. The time given by P&G was incredibly generous and their willingness to offer guidance and honesty in addressing all our questions across the programme was quite honestly outstanding.”
